Is civil administration of Pakistan double-faced?

The accusation of David Headley, one of the main conspirators behind dreadful 26/11 Mumbai attack, at the trial of Tahawwur Rana in Chicago Court presently, that Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, current Prime Minister of Pakistan, had attended the funeral of his father in December 2010 has blown political scenario in the Indian subcontinent out of the water.

According to his latest revelations, Mr. Gilani had attended the funeral of his father Syed Saleem Gilani, former Director-General of Radio Pakistan and worked for the Pakistani embassy in Washington DC. Well, the indictment has been denied by Prime Minister's Office, Pakistan outright and its spokesman stated, “The Prime Minister never attended the funeral and only visited Danyal Gilani's [Headley's half-brother] house to condole the death.” He also made a flat denial of the fact that Danyal Gilani works as a PRO in the Prime Minister's office.

There is no doubt that none wants to be indicted, not to speak of the highest ranking person of civilian administration in any country. But finger pointing of David Headley brings lots of other factors into the limelight as well. Pakistan knows well that proof of the charge will worsen its position in the global scenario only.

Another grave aspect will also come to the fore and it is that with respect to Islamic terrorism in India, any difference between military and civil administrations in Pakistan ceases to exist.

Lashkar-e-Taiba to destroy Hindu confidence in India; perennial soft target

There is a common saying – he who growls even is heeded ever. The reverse takes place with those led by feminine stances or feeling ashamed of asserting own rights. India is a fine example of feminine approaches – the country, even after almost 7 decades of independence, seems naïve in global diplomacy. US’ covert expedition in Pakistan snubbing its sovereignty, finding Osama bin Laden there and rooting him out instantly left the nation befuddled. India could have made use of the situation brilliantly – to call scourge of Islamic terrorism in India a halt once and for all.

But India preferred to steer clear of the same. And fallout of the historic fallacy is on hand. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), dreaded Islamic terrorist organization in Pakistan, has broken its silence, regrouped itself and has vowed to wreck havoc in India in the upcoming month of June. Police in Phagwarahas received two letters recently stating that LeT will explode significant temples in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on June 5 to retaliate the killing of Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.

On the word of police, one letter warns Hindus against taking on pilgrimage to Amarnath cave and Mata Vaishno Devi shrines in Jammu and Kashmir. SP Kamaljeet Singh Dhillon said he had been given the letters received by the Mahant of local Sheetla Mata Mandir Kamal Kishor first. The other letter threatens that 8 important temples of Himachal Pradesh and several important temples of Punjab will be blown up. These include Hanuman Garhi Madir, Sheetla Mata Mandirs of Phagwara and Kapurthala, Shri Kali Mata Mandir of Patiala and Durgiana Mandir of Amritsar.

Letters also pose threats that a few prominent Hindu leaders along with general Hindus and Sikhs would be massacred en masse.

The letter states clearly, "if this warning is not heeded, then Hindus and Sikhs would be massacred."

LeT never dares to intimidate United States, solely responsible for exterminating Osama, likewise. It knows what would be the effect of such an adventurism. India matters hardly to them – while US is a tiger in the same cat family, India is a mere cat or a pussycat or even worse than it.

Beef smugglers enjoying advocacy of governance

A simple yet crude truth must be accepted at the outset. Slaughtering of cows is a taboo in Hinduism and hence, presence of laws to prohibit the same in Hindu-dominated India is not aberrant. But it’s also true that same despised activity is in full swing across India – especially in the states of West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. Ironically, both these states have indigenous laws to call cow-slaughter a halt. If the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh is taken into consideration only, despite presence of UP Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act 1955 (revised in 2001), the abhorrent practice is on the rise owing to governmental indifference and overt or covert advocacy of government officials. West Bengal is also seeing an exponential rise in this context.

In accordance with commoners, police and administration is responsible to protect the related business persons and the role of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) can’t be ruled out at the same instant. People allege that BSP is actually sheltering these shady business persons. To know more one must look into the report of Dainik Janabani, published from Meerut, on April 27. As per the newspaper, beef smugglers have secret accords with veterinarians and the latter ones help them (through providing certificates) by terming beef as meat of buffalo. It is to be noted that credentials are required in Uttar Pradesh to move (any form of) meat from one place to another.

It remains clearly written in these certificates – this meat belongs to another animal (except cow) and everything has been done conforming to legal directions. On the word of Dainik Janabani, meat of buffalo was written in a packet containing signature and seal of Dr. Vikram Singha, chief veterinarian of district MuzaffarNagar. The daily, however, states with conviction that the packet was containing beef. It is reported, Dr. Vikram Singha does the same (time and again) to maintain self-interest.

Strong protests and pledge to fast unto death of BJP against these made the administration gauge the reality. The fast was withdrawn only when the local administration assured that stern measures would be adopted to stop these nasty activities.

Goddess Lakshmi on swimsuits affronts Hinduism

Hindus vow to stop the vicious design

Delineation of the image of Hindu Goddess Lakshmi on swim-wear at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) held in Sydney (Australia) from May 2-6 has anguished Hindus across the globe. Several Hindu organizations are up in arms against this and have initiated struggles to call this nasty design a halt.

As a reaction, noted Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has issued a statement in Nevada, prominent state in the southwestern United States. In accordance with the statement, it’s highly disturbing for Hindus to perceive Goddess Lakshmi, highly venerated in Hinduism, on a swim-wear displayed by a model at a fashion display. It is worthwhile to mention that Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped in Hindu temples or home shrines; the deity can’t be used in swimsuits to satisfy mercantile aspirations.

Rajan Zed is also the President of Universal Society of Hinduism and has asked the manufacturer Lisa Blue Swimwear and RAFW organizers to act contrite in public and recall swimsuits depicting Hindu Goddess Lakshmi straight away.

There is hardly any doubt that Hinduism happens to be the oldest and third largest religion in the globe having about one billion adherents along with a rich philosophical thought. Symbols of any faith, larger or smaller, should not be mishandled, Rajan Zed emphasized. Goddess Lakshmi, for instance, is the goddess of good fortune and beauty in Hinduism and is also called the ‘world-mother’.

What has infuriated Hindus more is the statement of Lisa Blue Swimwear. It has already stated that the original intention was to signify “the girl of the future who can be sexy, beautiful, powerful and environmentally aware at the same time”. Lisa Burke is alleged to be the designer-owner of this company headquartered in Byron Bay (Australia). Apart from Australia and an online presence, it consists of stockists in United States, Ireland, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

RAFW, on the other hand, is known as premier fashion industry event in the realm of Australia. It is also known for rendering a fitting podium for designers to exhibit their extensive collections to high-ranking buyers along with media in the world.

Islam’s sole catchword – destroy Hindus

Even if an assortment of theories has come to the fore at times, under the aegis of Leftists, Marxists and other custodians of alleged and weird secularism in India to nullify Islamic preponderance, it has never been a secret that Hinduism was mostly vulnerable to the Islamic hegemony in mediaeval India. What makes Marxists conduct a movement to negate any such approach of Islamic rulers in India? Reason remains unknown yet but it’s true too that a bonhomie sustains between religious Marxists and Islamic fundamentalists.

Alas self-proclaimed Indian proponents of secularism have missed quite a few points. Among these, a good number of archeological explorations and excavations, carried out in recent years, have evidenced majority of Islamic structures in India and other parts of the Indian subcontinent were erected on demolished Hindu monuments or built up by those materials.

They have also forgotten to take note of hundreds of medieval Muslim historians, known for writing detailed accounts of their heroes’ exploits that include religious persecution on Hindus as well.

Each account of atrocities can’t be delved into in this article but excerpts of tortures during the rule of Aurungzeb can be any eye-opener for many.

They are in the following lines:

1. "Mir'at-i-Alam" by Bakhtawar Khan

The author was a nobleman of Aurangzeb's court. He died in AD 1684. the history ascribed to him was really compiled by Muhammad Baqa of Saharanpur who gave the name of his friend as its author. Baqa was a prolific writer who was invited by Bakhtawar Khan to Aurangzeb's court and given a respectable rank. He died in AD 1683.

Muhiyu'd-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb 'Alamgir Padshah Ghazi (1658-1707) General Order

" ........ Hindu writers have been entirely excluded from holding public offices, and ALL THE WORSHIPPING PLACES OF THE INFIDELS AND GREAT TEMPLES of these infamous people HAVE BEEN THROWN DOWN AND DESTROYED in a manner which excites astonishment at the successful completion of so difficult a task. His Majesty personally teaches the sacred kalima to many infidels with success. ..... All mosques in the empire are repaired at public expense........."

2. "Alamgir-Nama" by Mirza Muhammad Kazim

This work, written in AD 1688 contains a history of the first ten years of Aurangzeb's reign.

Excerpts:

Muhiyu'd-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb 'Alamgir Padshah Ghazi (1658-1707) Palamau (Bihar)

" .......... In 1661 Aurangzeb in his zeal to uphold the law of Islam sent orders to his viceroy in Bihar, Daud Khan, to conquer Palamau. In the military operations that followed MANY TEMPLES WERE DESTROYED ............."

Koch Bihar (Bengal)

" ......... Towards the end of the same year when Mir Jumla made a war on the Raja of Kuch Bihar, the MUGHALS DESTROYED MANY TEMPLES during the course of their operations. IDOLS WERE BROKEN AND SOME TEMPLES WERE CONVERTED INTO MOSQUES. ........."

3. "Mas'ir-i-'Alamgiri" by Saqi Must'ad Khan

The author completed this history in 1710 at the behest of Inayatu''llah Khan Kashmiri, Aurangzeb's last secretary and favorite disciple in state policy and religiosity. The materials which Must'ad Khan used in this history of Aurangzeb's reign came mostly from the State archives.

Excerpts:

Muhiyu'd-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb 'Alamgir Padshah Ghazi (1658-1707)

General Order

"........ The Lord Cherisher of the faith learnt that in the provinces of Tatta, Multan, and especially at Benaras, the Brahmin misbelievers used to teach their false books in their established schools, and that admirers and students both Hindu and Muslim, used to come from great distances to these misguided men in order to acquire this vile learning. His majesty, eager to establish Islam, issues orders to the governors of all the provinces TO DEMOLISH THE SCHOOLS AND TEMPLES OF THE INFIDELS and with utmost urgency put down the teaching and the public practice of the religion of these misbelievers. ........"

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh)

" ....... It was reported that, according to the Emperor's command, his officers HAD DEMOLISHED THE TEMPLE OF VISHWANATH AT KASHI. ........"

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh)

" ...... During this month of Ramzan abounding in miracles, the Emperor as the promoter of justice and overthrower of mischief, as the knower of truth and destroyer of oppression, as the zephyr of the garden of victory and the reviver of the faith of the Prophet, ISSUED ORDERS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE TEMPLE SITUATED IN MATHURA< FAMOUS AS THE DEHRA OF KESHO RAI. In the short time by the great exertions of his officers the DESTRUCTION OF THIS STRONG FOUNDATION OF INFIDELITY WAS ACCOMPLISHED< AND ON ITS SITE A LOFTY MOSQUE WAS BUILT at the expenditure of a large sum. ...."

" ...... Praised be the August God of the faith of Islam, that in the auspicious reign of this DESTROYER OF INFIDELITY AND TURBULENCE, such a wonderful and seemingly impossible work was successfully accomplished. On seeing this instance of strength of the Emperor's faith and the grandeur of his devotion to God, the proud Rajas were stifled and in amazement they stood like images facing the wall. THE IDOLS, LARGE AND SMALL< SET WITH COSTLY JEWELS WHIC HAD BEEN SET UP IN THE TEMPLE WERE BROUGHT TO AGRA< AND BURIED UNDER THE STEPS OF THE MOSQUE OF BEGUM SAHIB, IN ORDER TO BE CONTINUALLY TRODDEN UPON. The name of Mathura was changed to Islamabad. ......"

Khandela (Rajasthan) " ...... Darab Khan who had been sent with a strong force to punish the Rajputs of Khandela and TO DEMOLISH THE GREAT TEMPLE OF THE PLACE, attacked on March 8th/Safar 5th, and slew the three hundred and odd men who made a bold defence, not one of them escaping alive. THE TEMPLES OF KHANDELA AND SANULA AND ALL OTHER TEMPLES IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WERE DEMOLISHED ........."
